KÖLSCH SERVICE at UTEPILS BREWING

Kölsch Service Kölsch is traditionally brewed with German Malts and Noble Hops. It is top-fermented like an ale and then conditioned at cooler temperatures, similar to a lager. Thus, it’s often referred to as a “hybrid beer.” Kölsch yeast gives the beer its slight fruitiness, backed by a cracker-like malt profile and crisp, dry hop notes. In Köln (Cologne) Germany, Kölsch is served in a stange glass, and Köbes (bartenders) will replace empty or near empty glasses with full ones. The smaller glass means the beer stays cold and fresh - and the service style allows you to remain seated while your next beer comes to you. Utepils pays respect to this time-honored tradition by offering Kölsch Service inside our Fernweh Taproom.

How it works:

• Start a tab at the bar and get a special ‘Kölsch Service’ coaster
• Find a seat inside the Taproom (no Service in the Beer Garden)
• Drink beer, refills will come to you. Your bartender will mark your coaster to keep track of your beers
• When you’ve had your fill, place your coaster on top of your glass Bring your coaster to a bartender to close out your tab —any unclosed tabs will incur a charge of $50 + 20% gratuity
• Get home safe!

Pricing: $6 for your first fill, the $4 for each refill (glass is approx 7oz)
